When a bride tells us she wants her engagement party to feel like the color palette of the inside of a fig, we know exactly what to do.
For this beautiful engagement party in Los Angeles near Venice Beach, the inspiration started with rich fig tones, warm neutrals and natural, romantic details. From the custom bar styling to the cocktail menu, we wanted the entire BUBBLES experience to feel like an extension of that vision.
And one cocktail in particular ended up stealing the show.
The Cocktail Everyone Was Talking About: Our Fig Gold Rush
Margaritas are almost always one of the most popular cocktails at our events. But this time, the whiskey cocktail had everyone coming back for more.
Our seasonal take on a classic Gold Rush cocktail featured:
Bourbon whiskey
Fresh-pressed lemon juice
House-made fig-infused honey
A large cocktail ice cube
Dehydrated fig garnish
The Gold Rush is traditionally a simple combination of bourbon, lemon and honey, which made it the perfect cocktail for us to put the BUBBLES farm-to-glass spin on.
Instead of a traditional honey syrup, we infused ours with fresh figs to bring a subtle seasonal fruit flavor into the cocktail. Fresh-pressed lemon balanced the sweetness, while bourbon gave it the warmth and depth that made this drink especially fitting for the fig-inspired celebration.
Finished with a dehydrated fig floating over a large cube, it was simple, elevated and completely tied into the theme.

One of our favorite parts of being a mobile bar in Los Angeles and Orange County is taking an idea from a client and translating it into something guests can actually experience.
When our bride first described the engagement party as having the palette of the inside of a fig, it immediately gave us a direction. Rather than simply choosing three popular cocktails, we created a beverage experience that felt connected to the colors, ingredients and overall atmosphere of the celebration.
That's what a custom cocktail menu should do.
